The
original GSX-R1000 defined total performance and has
never been surpassed.
Now the nightmare begins again for would-be rivals,
with the 2007 Suzuki GSX-R1000 - reborn for absolute
dominance. Evolution favours the strongest, and the
new model is more powerful, with more torque, less
weight and better aerodynamics.
Bred to own the racetrack; destined to redefine total
performance.
The new engine has a
Full998.6cc displacement, retaining
compact dimensions, with new cylinder head and valve
train for increased power, torque and acceleration.
Striking titanium exhaust is side-mounted, giving
a low centre of gravity for improved stability.
Weighing-in at 166kg, the K5 bike is 2kg lighter
than the 2004 model and between 4kg and 13kg lighter
than its closest three would-be rivals.
Digital SDTV fuel-injection and engine-management
systems, producing seamless throttle response, improved
combustion efficiency and increased low-rpm torque.
Revised styling: Shorter, narrower fuel tank, reshaped
dual headlights and new bodywork.
Each new cast-aluminium-alloy wheel is 300g lighter,
with shinner spokes and optimised wall thickness.
For better aerodynamics, the turn signals are integrated
into the mirrors at the front and built into the tailsection
at the rear.
More compact chassis - 20mm-lower seat, 5mm-shorter
wheelbase, 6mm-shorter frame and the distance between
the footpegs is 17mm narrower. |
